Now and Then: sun loungers

I enjoy finding and comparing inspired designs from the past and present and so, longing for those lazy days of summer, these two cool sun loungers caught me eye...and my imagination.
NOW: the Lawn Chair, (2008) designed by innovative Los Angeles-based, Fung + Blatt Architects www.fungandblatt.com lives up to it's name, literally. This chaise is 'upholstered' in sod and has a clever built-in watering devise to keep it alive.
THEN: the Sunball lounge chair (circa 1970) designed by German designers, Ris and Selldorf is at New York gallery Sebastian + Barquet www.sebastianbarquet.com This is a pod for lounging and sunbathing outdoors with two moveable spherical shells that open and close.
